Beloved, as Christians, we’re called to remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. He gave His life for us, so that we might have eternal life. When we partake in the Lord’s Supper, we’re reminded of this sacrifice and the love that God has for us.
In 1 Corinthians 11:23–26, the Apostle Paul writes, “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, ‘This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” “For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”
So, let us remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the love that God has for us. Let us partake in the Lord’s Supper with reverence and gratitude and proclaim His death until He comes again.
This powerful song by Sinach says:
Precious Jesus,
I thank You for the blood
Precious Jesus,
I thank You for Your body broken for me
I remember all You’ve done for me
Your perfect sacrifice and victory
I remember all You’ve done for me
Oh my Lord
And I worship You today
I worship you today.
Glory to God!
