There is a common misconception among some people that children are too young to understand the things of God. However, this is far from the truth. In fact, childhood is the right time to lay a solid foundation for children in God’s Word. As parents, guardians, or caregivers, it is our responsibility to introduce children to the gospel and train them up in the way they should go, as the scripture says in Proverbs 22:6.
There are many examples in the Bible of young men and women that God used mightily, such as Rhoda and Jeremiah. These examples prove that God can use anyone, regardless of age, to fulfill His purpose and glorify His name.
This is why we have set up the Children of Promise (C.O.P.) ministry. It provides a training ground for children to be ministered to and also to minister to one another, positively affecting their generations through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The children are taught the word of God and His promises and are trained to share the word of God with others they encounter.
Isaiah 54:13 says, “And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD, and great shall be the peace of thy children.” This scripture emphasizes the importance of teaching children about God and His ways and how it can bring peace to their lives. The C.O.P ministry understands this, which is why it focuses on equipping children with the knowledge of God’s Word to help them live a fulfilling life in Christ.
