As Christians, we will all lose something at some point in our lives. Maybe the loss of a loved one or a hard time in our lives wears us down. No matter how big or small the loss seems, God has a plan to make things right, and He promises to give us back what we’ve lost.

In Joel 2:25, the Lord says, “I will give you back the years that the swarming locust, the crawling locust, the eating locust, and the chewing locust have eaten.” This verse shows us that even when we feel like we’ve lost everything, God is still working in our lives, and He has a plan to bring back what we’ve lost.

Exodus 22:1 tells us how important it is to make things right when we have caused someone else to lose something. Even though this passage may not seem like it has anything to do with us, we can still learn from it. If we’ve done someone wrong, we should make things right, ask for forgiveness, and own up to what we’ve done. Only then will it be possible to fix things.

In Hebrews 8:6, we can see that Jesus is the one who makes a better covenant based on better promises. Jesus finished the work of the old covenant, and now we have a new covenant that gives us hope and healing. Through Jesus, our relationships with God and with other people can be fixed.

We can trust that God has a plan for our recovery, no matter how our loss shows up. As Christians, we can talk to a loving God who wants us to do well. God is always with us, so we don’t have to go through our loss alone.

Let’s trust God’s plan for our healing and remember that He is reliable and will get us back to a place where we are whole. May we remember to feel sorry for those around us who have lost something and point them to the one who can bring hope and healing.
