“Expect And Experience Restoration Of Lost Years”

Hey there friend,

I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to share some encouraging words with you today. If you’ve been feeling like you’ve lost something, I want you to know that God is more than able to restore what has been lost.

I know that it can be easy to feel discouraged and like things will never get better, but I assure you that God has a restorative plan for each and every one of our lives. In fact, Joel 2:25–26 confirms that God is in the business of restoring what has been taken. It says, “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust that inhabited the land have eaten… You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and you shall praise the name of the LORD, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be put to shame.”

God promises to restore the years that have been taken from us. He wants to bring healing and restoration to our lives. The enemy may think that he has us, but God’s restorative power is greater than anything the enemy can throw our way. Hallelujah!

Leviticus 6:4-5 also speaks to this idea of restoration. It says, “Because he has sinned and is guilty, he shall restore what he has stolen, the thing which he has extorted, what was delivered to him for safekeeping, the lost thing which he found, or all that about which he has sworn falsely. He shall restore its full value, add one-fifth more to it, and give it to whomever it belongs on the day of his trespass offering.”

In this passage, we see that if someone has taken something that doesn’t belong to them, they are required to restore what has been taken and more. This is a picture of God’s restorative nature. He not only wants to restore what has been lost, but He wants to give us more than we could ever imagine.

Lastly, Psalm 92:13–15 reminds us that those who are planted in the house of the Lord will flourish. It says, “Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.” “They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, to declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”

If we stay rooted and planted in God, He promises to bring growth and fruitfulness to our lives. And even in our old age, we can still bear fruit and be fresh and flourishing. All of this is to declare that the Lord is upright and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

So friend, let me encourage you today. If you’re feeling like you’ve lost something, know that God is more than able to restore what has been taken. Stay rooted and planted in Him, and watch Him bring growth and fruitfulness into your life. The enemy may have thought he had us, but thanks to Jesus, we can have restoration and new life in Him.
