Christmas is a time of the year a lot of people look forward to. It’s a great holiday because almost everyone shuts down their activities to celebrate at home with family and friends.
While this is lovely, many people overlook the celebrant and simply enjoy themselves. They indulge in wild partying, frivolous spending, gluttony, and other vices.
Toni Sorenson quoted Christmas is about change. It’s a time we open our hearts before we open our presents.
Beyond the Christmas decorations, traditional Christmas songs, new dresses, and sumptuous meals, we must all focus on the reason for the season – JESUS.
While we celebrate, let us remember the one who came into the world to save us from our sins and transgressions. It was a great honor to have Emmanuel, and the Bible makes it clear that he was no ordinary child.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us, a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace”
(Isaiah 9:6)
So, as you celebrate this season, remember that it is more than a holiday; it is a holy day. It’s Christmas and also Christ-mass.
Nkiru Ogamba ministries wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year in advance.
